well worth the money May 3, 2009 Holly Fey (homer, ak) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
this is what i like to refer to as "the cadillac" of strollers. my 5 month old loves to ride in it. he loves to see what's going on as we roll through town with him facing forward, and also doesn't mind facing the other way when we keep him in the car seat (i like to look at him too!) the wheels are big and sturdy and it rides very smooth, which is saying alot since we live in the rough terrain of alaska. its also a great help when traveling, i took the stroller with through the airport so he could lay down and sleep when he needed. the only problem i have had is that the hook to keep it folded got lost on the first leg of our flight, so now when i pack it up, it kind of unfolds itself when set upright, but other than that, i love it and am very pleased with the whold system.
We LOVE This System!!! August 21, 2009 Avid Reader (Tucker, GA USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this system after my 4-month-old maxed out on the length for her infant car seat. We really needed a system that would accommodate the baby her first year and beyond. I love both the car seat and the stroller.
Car Seat: PROS: Wonderful, easy, 5-point system. The seat itself is heavy, but it is large and accommodates a larger baby, so it is bound to be heavier due to its sheer size. The seat has seen a lot of abuse over the past 5 months and is still looking new. The seat is very easy to get in and out of the base and the base is VERY easy to install.
Car Seat CONS: We have a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder and cannot put the passenger's side front seat too far back because this seat is so large. Sometimes the lever that releases the car seat from the base sticks if you pull up on the car seat before depressing the lever. I'm sure this is a safety feature, so really should not be a ding to the seat design itself.
Stroller PROS: I love this stroller. It rides very smoothly. The stroller is very light for its size - though the stroller is large, I can easily use the one-handed fold design and lift it into the back of my SUV. I also love the shade - it provides a lot of cover and can be pulled all the way forward to shade a sleeping child. The basket underneath is large enough to accommodate my pool bag and a small cooler. I also like the double cup holder and pocket for keys and whatnot. Lots of nooks - great for outdoor festivals, pools, and parks.
Stroller CONS: The stroller is big - it is for a larger child and can sometimes be difficult to maneuver in tight situations. My husband and I call it the "Cadillac of Strollers".
Overall, this is a great stroller and we highly recommend it.
Great choice! January 31, 2009 J. Mraidi (Orlando, Florida) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I love this travel system! My husband picked out the colors, and I wasnt sure at first but when it arrived, i fell in love. I love the material and its very easy to assemble. Not sure what the other review was referring to but this is brown and turquoise...very lovely! Turns very easily and the push bar is high enough that we dont have to slouch (I am 5'9" and my husband is 6'0). That is a first for us! Overall, very impressed with this item...
Fabulous System!!! July 2, 2009 Clare Bear (St. Pete, FL) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a great stroller and car seat, period! So completely functional and has everything you'd need in a stroller. Two drink holders, 'stuff' holder, sunglass holder, HUGE basket, super easy one-handed fold/open, very easy to adjust the seat recline, even with a child in the seat already. Easy to maneuver. Snack/drink tray which is so useful. Car seat snaps in perfectly and stroller doesn't feel too heavy with it in. Just all around a great buy.
I just posted a review about a Phil & Ted stroller that I bought and mentioned that my Graco was far superior to it. I've had mine over two years now and it looks great, nothing has broken on it! We've taken it on planes several times and the guys knock the stuff out of the strollers when they're putting them on and off the planes. The consol came off once but it's so easy to snap back in - this stroller can totally take a beating and still come out looking great.
Can't say enough about it.
Great buy! May 2, 2009 A. Marino (Sixburgh, PA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had originally decided to go with the Chicco Cortina travel system, however, my fiance felt that the Quattro was a much better deal-- and he was SO right!
The carseat, for one, fits up to 32 lbs., whereas the Cortina seems to be snug on most children, even ones that aren't in the higher growth percentiles. The fabric on the Townsend is beautiful in person, and the pictures don't do it justice. It's very easy to wash and keep clean, and is very soft/plush.
The stroller itself is a little bulky, but I have no trouble packing it into the trunk of my tiny Hyundai Accent. It folds up with ease, and the carseat is VERY simple to place in the stroller. As far as assembly, I had it completely set up in about 10-15 minutes (much easier than the Townsend swing or play yard that match!).
As far as function, the basket is great for shopping trips and I can usually fit everything I need in it. The parent storage compartment is great for stashing everything from wipes to lipgloss to keys. The only complaint I have is that the child snack tray is not really removeable without looking like an eyesore... it does, however, flip up for diaper changes, so it's not a terrible inconvenience.
Overall, I love this stroller and saved a ton of money by not buying the overrated Chicco!
